Executive producer Steven Spielberg’s newest money-in-the-bank actor in many of his movies, Shia LaBeouf, who was involved in Spielberg’s and Caruso’s 2007 film Disturbia and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, re-joined the director and executive producer to star as the lead in Eagle Eye, the latest thriller from his DreamWorks Studios. Eagle Eye scheduled to be released September 26, 2008.

The production idea was first created by Steven Spielberg himself and was penned by Screenwriter Dan McDermott for Spielberg to direct. Spielberg then had to step away from the thriller when he became involved with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Spielberg then gave the job to Caruso who had directed the 1996 TV series High Incident under Spielberg’s executive production as well as Disturbia, replaced the director in helming Eagle Eye.

Movie Eagle Eye stars LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan as two people thrown together in a rather unorthodox manner as they are targeted by a terror group to do their bidding in the assassination of a politician.

The plot of the movie follows LaBeouf, who plays a slacker, Jerome “Jerry” Shaw, who returns home after the death of his twin brother in very mysterious circumstances. Monaghan plays a single mother, Rachel Holloman, who is framed as a terrorist along with LaBeouf and the duo are forced to carry out a plot that the terrorists have preordained. Along the way, the pair is hunted by Rosario Dawson as a government agent who is tracking down the terrorist cell and Billy Bob Thornton as Thomas Morgan, the patriotic leader of a homeland security team tracking down who is also hot on the trail of the terror cell. Additional cast members include, Anthony Mackie as a hot-shot soldier, Cameron Boyce as Sam, Ethan Embry as Toby Grant, Michael Chiklis as the United States Secretary of Defense and McKay Stewart as an F-16 pilot.

Eagle Eye Movie is scheduled to open in wide release on September 26, 2008. Watch Eagle Movie Eagle Eye available on theaters near you.
